Edge, Cloud and AI in Manufacturing

Short theory on how digital twins (device, process, part) in conjunction with data ontologies and event context continuum create basis for Industry 4.0 use cases by utilizing modern AI. From ingestion to data lake house, observability, machine learning modeling and back to edge via remote deployments, we analyze practical cloud and edge architecture in multidisciplinary environment to create holistic solution with the goal of creating self-healing autonomous processing. Real time and batching architecture examples using modern low code tools demonstrates latency specific requirements in manufacturing process. Architecture and concepts shown are mostly cloud agnostic, some concrete examples will use Azure Cloud.

Sladjan Matic has more than fifteen years of experience in software engineering and architecture and enjoys researching both business and technology aspects of solution designs. In the last few years, he has focused on cloud and edge architecture with a passion for IIoT and AI in Industry 4.0 context. He holds degrees in Computer Science from Rutgers University and MBA from Munich Business School.
